Local Philanthropy & Service

In addition to raising money and awareness for arthritis and related diseases, our sisters recognize the importance of giving back in many other ways.

Beta Zeta's Local Philanthropy

Every year we hold an event close to our heart's known as Sisters for Soldiers. This event is designed to raise money and awareness for our soldiers overseas. In the Fall of 2016, we continued our tradition of holding one of our signature events, Run for the Roses. At the event, runners were encouraged to join us in packaging care packages for soldiers overseas. Each care package contained personal hygiene essentials, writing products, and a personal thank you note from a sister or attendee from the event.

Turning our attention to the world around us...

Beta Zeta donates time and resources to countless local community projects and organizations, as well as to our international philanthropy. Some organizations and causes AOII supported in the last year include:

  • Adopt-A-Mile
  • American Red Cross
  • Breast Cancer
  • Building Strong Girls
  • Children's Miracle Network
  • Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
  • Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
  • Love Your Melon
  • National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders
  • Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation
  • Relay For Life

BZ Day of Service

Our chapter has decided to partake in a new tradition known as BZ Day of Service. Groups of sisters choose a place or charity to volunteer for to give back to our community. Altogether, we performed over 150 hours of service. Sisters donated their time to organizations such as Must Ministries, Cobb County Police and Fire Department, and our local animal shelters.
